Botanical Art Techniques in Action
ASBA introduces the second round of four episodes in a new series of live-action tutorials based on Botanical Art Techniques, A Comprehensive Guide. Tutors demonstrate their topics from the book with new subjects and expand on those lessons. The one-hour sessions allow 45 minutes of demonstration, and 15 minutes for a Q & A. Sessions can be viewed live or on demand for the week following live airing.
Drawing a Gourd in Colored Pencil with Tammy McEntee
Bring the grooves, valleys and bumps of a warty pumpkin to life through colored pencil. Learn the tools needed, how to select the local color, apply a grisaille and work with odorless mineral spirits. Blending with OMS allows you to achieve a smooth mix of colors and create convincing contours on a pumpkin or gourd. Many tips and tricks will be given along the way to help artists master the techniques of colored pencil.
