Biographical Statement
I was born in Bordeaux, France, and lived there until I was 22.
In Bordeaux, France, I studied display design and worked as a display designer as I kept studying for my Baccalauréat.
I came to the US as a student and studied graphic arts and fashion design at Washington University in Saint Louis to get a BFA. I found love, got married and moved to New York, where in my youth I designed for cosmetic and perfume design companies and worked for Ester Lauder as a design manager.
When I became a mother of school aged kids, I decided to participate in the school system, went back to school and became a teacher. I worked in private schools and eventually spent 20 years in the public school system in New York. I created the first French dual language program for middle schools in New York and received the honor of the French government, “Chevalier de l’ordre des palmes académiques”.
All my life, anytime I had some free time, I loved painting with watercolors and used the paintings to decorate my home. I’ve always been fascinated by flowers and plants, bugs and small creatures. Now that I’m retired, I’ve moved out of New York, and found my dream home here in Seattle with a beautiful garden and started to spend more time painting. The nature here is truly spectacular and inspiring.
