Lisa Rasmussen is a versatile illustrator/graphic designer. She is proficient in graphite, watercolor, acrylic, pen & ink, mixed media, printmaking, colored pencil, and digital. She lets the medium dictate the style. Much of her work is realistic in terms of rendering, but the subject matter is sometimes more fantastical. One of her specialties is botanical art.


She has a BFA in Graphic Design with a concentration in Drawing from Carnegie-Mellon University, an MS in Education from Russell Sage College and an MFA in Graphic Design with a concentration in Illustration and book design from Vermont College of Fine Arts. 


Lisa currently teaches Art and Design at Waynesburg University. In addition to teaching at the college level for the last 16 years, she teaches workshops in the community. She is Curator of Exhibitions for Stifel Fine Arts Center at Oglebay Institute. Lisa is on the faculty for the Botanical art & Illustration program at Phipps Conservatory. 


She is Exhibitions Co-Chair for Pittsburgh Watercolor Society and Exhibit Coordinator for Allegheny Highlands Botanical Art Society a chapter of the ASBA.
