Rose Marie James is new to botanical art receiving a Certificate in Botanical Illustration from the New York Botanical Garden in 2011. Her art career includes a Masters in Art Education, more than 15 years teaching art, and many years as a graphic designer/creative director in the New York Metropolitan area. She has always painted and exhibited her work having been in many national juried shows including those at the Chautauqua Institute and the Albright Knox Art Gallery in Western New York. She had her first solo botanical art show at the Harrison Library Gallery, Harrison, NY in March 2011 and was juried into her first International Botanical Exhibition of the American Society of Botanical Artists at the Horticultural Society in New York City the same year. Along with painting, she teaches Drawing, Colored Pencil and Watercolor classes for the New York Botanical Garden.
