Cherie is a freelance botanical artist, emphasizing native and garden plants of western North America.
Cherie comes to botanical art with a diverse professional background in architecture, planning and floral design. Because she is also a landscape designer, she particularly enjoys painting native plants which can be successfully cultivated in ornamental landscapes.
In 2002-3, Cherie attended the Botanical Art Institute of San Diego, later completing her Botanical Art Certificate. She has attended a number of classes and workshops in botanical art and nature drawing as well, including classes at the Art Institute of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. In recent years she has gone on to teach watercolor mixing and colored pencil painting.
Cherie has displayed her work at a number of ASBA juried exhibitions and other shows, including the International Juried Botanical Art Exhibition of ASBA and the Horticultural Society of New York, 2008-12. She enjoys working in watercolor, graphite and colored pencil. Cherie maintains a studio near Tucson, Arizona.
